Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA

30 December 2023 to April 2024

Introduction

We start off by heading out in December. We look forward to our adventures in Myrtle and for those who don't like heights (like us), our condo is on the 9th floor.

We arrived on 1 January to a really nice condo. A nice 3 bedroom condo on the 9th floor.

and lastly the master bedroom

And even a clock for the beach

This is how far it is from our house.

Part of the experience of going down South is the travel, the restaurants the sights. Cracker Barrel was our favorite spot, if you go, I suggest you join the loyalty program ;)

We even met friends from Mt Jackson as we stopped at Cracker Barrel near their house

Then we had Thomas and Jessica. They both had Christmas breaks so they joined us in Myrtle for a week.

They took a night out and enjoyed themselves

We played cards. Thomas ended up with a perfect hand

When they left we played Crib...using on line cribbage board...now back to Thomas and Jessica's visit

They (as we also) enjoyed their time on the deck overlooking the ocean

We also enjoyed a few outings to Outback Steakhouse and The Olive Garden

One day we went to Top Golf and it was soothing to just hit the ball-well, for those who made contact lol

Here is Thomas and then we all need a cheering section

Whenever you get a chance, ask Sharon if she wants to go Mini putt. The answer will always be a very affirmative "yes". Here we are with Thomas and Jessica on a cold day.

Their departure

Thomas and Jessica left after one week then we had free time to visit, walk, take pickle ball lessons, golf and go to shows.

On the 8th of Jan I began a 4 week lesson, every Monday of Pickle-ball. There is so much talk of the sport, I had to go and find out what it was all about.

We had the Guess Who near the end of Jan

We also got to see the Herman Hermits and let me tell you...well worth it!! Peter Noone makes the show!!! We went there with Wayne and Vicki.

Whispering Pines Golf Course is just down the road so I went to the practice range and then golf with Rick Johnson

This is Wayne at another driving range closer to his condo. I went there on occasion to hit balls with him.

The three of us did get out for a round of golf

Sharon and I had a few walks...there is one where she is showing me it's cold and she should have brought her sweater.

My further walks bring me out to the Sky-wheel which is about 6 miles. Sad...10 years ago, I was doing 10 miles...

This is about 2.5 miles away but in the southern direction of our condo.

Happiness is...meeting your wife on a walk...You'll notice that some pictures Sharon wears her sling and others she does not. When she forgets to wear it, she is hurting after her walk. She is seeing a surgeon on the ides of March lol

We enjoyed the deck

And Sharon loves to read

Some other visitors

Celebrating Vicki's birthday. She loves Black Forest Cake. After the restaurant under the Myrtle Beach Sky wheel we went to the condo for her favorite dessert.

Steve (Sharon's brother) and Shelley (his girlfriend) arrived on 13 Feb. On the 14th we went to a German restaurant.

Steve had some exercises to do that was dictated by his physiotherapist.

Shelley wanted help getting all her stuff in her suitcase...Steve was not accommodating...

And then they left. They usually fly down but this time they decided to drive and see what the cost savings were like. They said, never again. They prefer flying.

While they were gone, Sharon and I went to Lincoln in Myrtle to see the new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus. I Love It.

At the end of Feb, the day after Steve & Shelley left...we were pleased to receive Jim and Mag as they stopped on their way to Florida. I golf with Jim at my home course of GG&CC in Kingston. Mag is Jim's girlfriend.

As I said, Sharon loves mini-putt and as it turns out, so does Mag.

We all met at the North Myrtle Beach Mellow Mushroom for some pizza and friendly chat. Rick, Jim and I play golf at GG&CC.

Then only Jim and I went golfing. Rick's back was hurting and Way had some Achilles heal thing going on.

Here we took in Time Warp at the Carolina Opry. We had front row seats. They loved it-as we did also.

We went to Olive Garden for supper.

Feb came to an end

On the 2nd, we picked up Amanda (my niece and goddaughter) with her boyfriend Dan and his son Oliver.

I met them as I was going for my walk. They were returning from theirs. He gave an impromptu kiss to Amanda which she readily accepted. Of course I was there to capture the moment.

We visited a Bass Pro Shop and there were ducks etc. She we had to stop to feed them. Did I fail to mention that there are machines right there with food for the animals? All you have to do is deposit some coins and you'll get enough to feed -maybe one bird.

We went to Top Golf where Dan showed us how it was done!! Oliver enjoyed himself also

After one of their walks they threw the Frisbee around as Oliver is on a great team of Frisbee throwers.

I told them about this go cart track that I took Joshua to years ago and they said of course...they loved it!

During their stay, Sharon found a lovely pair of earrings so we bought them.

One day while they were doing things, Wayne and I went golfing

After we drove Amanda, Dan and Oliver to the airport, Sharon and I prepared for March Break....then we were told no one was coming down this year. So we went Mini Putting

Then the next week, we did the same thing

Then we went to the Olive Garden for a meal (Brandon was serving us again). We had him when we went with Thomas, and Brandon did ask where they were. Good memory.

My last golf game I was alone...but I was determined

Then we attended the Clint Black concert. Not the greatest but it was enjoyable.

After that, the weather wasn't that great and I wanted to get home to see my mother as she had fallen on the 7th of March and I wanted to be there for her...

Before leaving though, Sharon had purchased some Tuna for the CATS!!!

Other feedings

Thank you one and all for visiting the adventures of Tassé Snow-Birding in 2024
